For anyone who has already
signed up to, or may wish to sign up to, locum shifts taking hours
worked above average of 48 per week an agreement to opt out of EWTR
hours requirements must be completed and returned to HR.

has been checked by the BMA and they have found no problems with any
of the wording. They do however wish to remind us:
1. you can opt out of the total hours/week limit but not the rest
requirement or maximum shift length (you cannot do a day shift and
then a night shift).
2. you can "opt out" of opting out whenever you decide, you are not
bound for a certain length of time (the Trust's document is dated
for a year but you can change your mind at any time before this if
you wish)
3. you put yourself under no obligation to work additional hours by
signing the opt out agreement, additional hours worked are by your
own choice
4. You can work up to a maximum of 56 hours/week average if you have
opted out
